发明名称 TEMPERATURE MEASURING METHOD OF THERMALLY FUSION WELDED PART OF OPTICAL FIBERS
摘要 PURPOSE:To know the actual heating time accurately and form the optically and mechanically good fusion welded part by measuring the temperature of the heated portion based on the quantity of light emitted by the optical fibers per se in fusion welding of optical fibers through gaseous discharge. CONSTITUTION:One end of an optical fiber 10 is heated by the gaseous discharge produced between electrodes 3, 5 by the high voltage on the secondary side when a current is flowed to a high voltage transformer 1, then it emits light and this light propagates in the fiber. The are light during discharging also propagates to the other end 12 of the fiber 10 and is emitted therefrom. The exit light is waveform- converted through a filter 14 and a detector 13 and is then supplied to a switching circuit 7. On the other hand, the discharge current waveform indicating that at the operating of the transformer 1 is drawn out with a current monitor 4 to obtain the formed waveform indicating the non-discharge time, which is then supplied to the circuit 7, from which only the light output waveform by the light emission of the optical fiber is drawn out and is integrated 8. This is then applied as a DC signal to an indicator 9. Hence, the temperature of the heated part may be measured.
