PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a flaw on the outside surface of a drum and to prevent its flapping deformation by forming a toner scattering preventive seal material by using a material whose flexural rigidity in the direction being parallel to the other end is higher than flexural rigidity in the direction being orthogonal to the end face of the other end, on the side for abutting on the outside periphery of the drum. CONSTITUTION:In a toner scattering preventive seal material A, one end A1 of width (y) is fixed by a holder 27 along the outside of an opening end being in the vicinity of a photosensitive drum 1 of an opening 231 of a holder 23, and the other end A2 abuts on the outside periphery 1a of the drum. The lengthwise direction X in which flexural rigidity is high is placed in parallel to a rotation axis of the drum 1. Therefore, the end edge A2 becomes a state that press-contacting force is small. As a result, the generation of a flaw on the outside periphery of the drum is prevented, and also, in the lengthwise X direction, a flapping deformation is prevented, and a satisfactory seal performance can be secured extending over a long period of time. At the time of allowing the rigidity in the lengthwise X and the width Y directions to have an anisotropy, it can be realized by providing parallel thin grooves in the X direction, or burying a thin metallic wire. |
