A gas lamp comprises a screw - threaded spigot 5 at one end to attach the lamp to a tank of liquefied gas, a central pillar 9 through which the gas flows, and a lamp glass 15 located by upper and lower plates 10, 14 themselves located solely by the central pillar, one of the plates being resiliently biased towards the other.
