The circuit board is blank on one side and has a pattern of conductors on the other. The pattern's conductors join with the metal coatings on the insides of holes passing through the board. The components (6) are mounted on the same side of the board (1) as the pattern (2) of conductors and their connection wires are inserted into the metallised holes. The ends of the wires (5) projecting from the non-conducting side of the board are heated and solder introduced into the holes to connect the wires electrically to the metal parts of the holes and therefore to the conducting pattern.
