Fuse cartridge using quartz support - has coiled wire in elongated space and with wall thickness as function of current rating

The fuse cartridge consists of a quartz support and a number of fuse wires along the length of the support. The fuse wire assembly is contained in an elongated space of between 1 to 4 mm wide. The space is filled with an extinguishing agent. The quartz support (3) also functions as an encasing in the form of a round tube. The wall thickness of this tube depends on the currents to be cut-out and lies between 0.5 and 2 mm. The fuse wire (3) is spiral-shaped on the inside of the tube.
