PURPOSE:To facilitate the feed of the steel sheet into the roll and to make the rolling work to be smoothly carried out, by holding in the mill housing, the upper and lower frames provided with the pushing piece, so as to be freely, horizontally movable, and by moving the main frame forward and backward at the entrance of the rollin mill. CONSTITUTION:When the material 103 to be rolled comes to the specified position, the clamp head 17 is brought down by the hydraulic cylinder 18, and the upper frame 20 and upper pushing piece 22 are brought down; hereby, the upper pushing piece 22 and lower pushing piece 23 clamps the material 103. The hydraulic cylinder 11 is moved forward and the main frame 1 is moved forward through the link 10, and the material 103 to be rolled is pushed into the gap between upper and lower rolls 104, 105, under the condition of being clamped. The movement of the main frame 1 by the hydraulic cylinder 11 is horizontally carried out by the rolling of the wheel parts in the guides 5, 5', being free from clatter and slip. After the rolling work is finished, the upper frame 20 goes upward by the reverse action of the hydraulic cylinder 18, and the main frame returns to the waiting position by the backward movement of the cylinder 11. |
