A rotary screen or sieve has a framework composed of longitudinal tubes (8) which pass through holes in support rings (7). The end rings are supported by tubular shafts through which the material being screened is supplied. The screening elements are built up from panels (2) fixed along their edges and attached to longitudinal bars (16) fixed to the inner edges of the rings. This form of construction is suitable for very large rotary screens since the flow of material through the screen is not impeded by any of the structural members.
