<p>The hydraulically compensated desmodromic valve gear for I.C. engines is partic. for single-OHC engines with valves in a 'V'. It uses two rockers (5, 6) per valve working in opposition, and mounted on axially continuous eccentric sleeves (12a, 12b) on a common shaft (11). Cranked arms (9, 10) from the free ends of these sleeves connect to opposite ends of a hydraulic compensator (18) so that set contact pressures are maintained. With valves in a 'V' the same cams operate inlet and exhaust valves and a tension spring (20) connects compensators on opposite sides of the camshaft.</p> |
