<p>Self-sticking labels, pref. of plastic film e.g. in polyester or polyethylene and strippable from a carrier tape, are applied to articles using labels which have been already stamped out without affecting the carrier; they are separated from the carrier and then applied to articles which pass nearby on the tacky side. The waste material around the label plus the label itself are parted from the carrier, the label is pressed out on to the article. In a high speed mechanical process, wase parts are left on the carrier film when labels are produced, labels are positioned accurately on articles without interference from electrostatic effects; process is partic. suitable for applying transparent labels onto medical ampoules.</p> |
