The tool inserts a wire into a clamp-type connector and has an extended part with a recess in its front end face to hold the connector. Notches are formed each side of the recess. A cutting blade moves into the region of the notches and cuts the wire situated in them. The cutting blade is pivoted on one side of the extended part (42) and forms a handgrip (41) which when operated moves the cutting blade. The blade extends along the extended part.
