The auxiliary winch is for use in rough terrain. It is arranged on a support frame and has a motor- or hand-driven winch drum to pick up the cable. The support frame is a metal, slide-type trough (12), on which the winch drum is arranged with its axis of rotation running at right angles to the trough length. the trough (12) has a flat bottom section with upwards pointing side walls (18). An upwards inclined bottom section connects with the flat base section in the front end region of the trough (12).
