PURPOSE:To obtain an input panel featuring the accurate detection of the coordinate position for the coordinate input panel which is formed with plural electrodes and resistors and uses the resistors as the two sides of the detecting bridge circuit, by covering with the insulator film over the substrate surface excluding the area where the detector pen touches. CONSTITUTION:The coordinate input panel is formed by connecting electrodes 11, 21 ... N1 and resistors R1, R2 ... RN+1 distributed corresponding to the coordinate positions to be detected on glass substrate SUB. In such input panel, the areas excluding the electrode part are covered with the insulator film, and the detector pen is applied directly to electrodes 11, 21 and so on. Detector pen D is connected to one side of oscillator OSC and then applied to, for example, electrode 21. Thus, a bridge circuit is constituted with Rx and Ry of Fig. (a), composed resistance R1+R2 and R3+ ... RN+1 plus constant resistance Rc and variable resisance Rv. The balance of the bridge circuit is secured by Rv and in accordance with the area to be applied with the detector pen, and the electrode position where the detector pen is applied is detected via the value of Rv. Accordingly, the detector pen has only to touch the electrode, and the detecting resolution does not depend how to apply the pen. Thes, the accurate position can be detected for the coordinates. |
