Loading door for sound proofed booth around press - has insulated door operation linked to movement of press slide and closed first by counterweight mechanism

The loading door is provided in a sound proofed booth enclosing a press and permits work to be inserted and withdrawn easily. It is insulated and operates between vertical slides on the press frame. Pulleys are fitted to the press slide, cables being attached to the door upper edge and passing over the pulleys. The cables drop into a chmber underneath and are fixed to a counterweight which contacts the top of the chamber. As the slide descends, the door closes twice as fast. Similarly, on the return stroke, the door opens rapidly.
