The filtration apparatus comprises a permeable conveyor belt (28) onto which is applied a band of filter paper (30) which passes between a vessel (22) receiving dirty liquid and a vessel (24) collecting clean liquid. The conveyor belt (28) is made up of grid plates which are supported and driven by endless chains. A conduit (34) is intended to create a partial vacuum in the vessel (24) and a seal fed with clean liquid ensures perfect leakproofing between the vessel (22) and the vessel (24) along the edges of the belt (28). This apparatus is employed for the filtration of coolant fluids in machines for machining metals. <IMAGE>
