<p>Solar energy collector is an assembly of small units of glass giving a high yield, which can be easily produced by interested parties themselves. The individual collectors are each formed by two tubes welded together concentrically, and the annular cavity is easily evacuated. Efficiency of the heat collector is increased by flattening the inner tube in its active zone, which may be darkened. The outer tube is undulated close to its ends to allow for expansion, its front face being whitened and its rear face being sprayed with metal. Collectors are assembled with head pipes into units and are protected by a plastic structure from which recesses are cut out to suit the collectors and the headers etc.</p> |
