PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor or an image processing method for creating a copy in which legibleness is not damaged significantly by taking account of hue when a pattern image is attached to a copy or a printed matter. SOLUTION: In the image processor, histogram about the level of each pixel of input image data is created for every color component, a pattern color is determined as the complementary color of a tone indicated by the histogram by analyzing each histogram thus created, pattern image data of a color thus determined is created, and then the pattern image data thus created is composed as input image data.
