Helicopter rotor with axial imbalance compensation - has opposed blades joined by loops with centring straps coupled to shaft extension

The rotor for a helicopter has an even number of blades. The roots of diametrically opposed blades are linked by torsionally soft tension loops, crossing the hub without constraint, at different levels. To cope with any axial imbalance between paired blades each loop has a tension strap (14) linking the load-transmitting bolts to a spindle (15) coaxial with and forming an extension of the rotor shaft. The straps are coaxial with loops and have a very small cross-section to length ratio.
