Device for comminuting fibers used in laboratories in order to determine the coarse components, essentially chips in wood fibers, for example in the paper industry. The device is an improvement of the Brecht-Holl device widely used in the German speaking countries, in which the comminuting is made by washing a sample fiber on a horizontal comminuting board, immersed in water and having splits. In the known device, the nozzles arranged horizontally and essentially tangentially to the comminuting containers surrounding the comminuting board as well as the element guiding the expected flow do not solve appropriately the problem raised by the comminution of long fiber materials. In order to solve this problem, the comminuting device according to the invention includes a central multiple nozzle (21) extending above and immersed under the water level (25), above the split board (7). The ports of the nozzle are directed downwardly toward the split board. The comminuting container (8) does not contain any further material. The device is so designed that the flow through the split board (7) can be used for a further comminution, in another device connected thereto. |
