摘要 PURPOSE:To generate ozone effectively, safely, and at lower cost by the procedure in which a coarse mesh diaphragm of great space volumitric ratio, containing an aqueous solution, and a fine diaphragm in contact with the coarse mesh diaphragm are fointly provided at cathodic side standing opposite to anode side in such a way that the fine mesh diaphragm is on the anode side, and then voltage is applied across the cathode and the anode. CONSTITUTION:The anodic plate 3 and the cathodic plate 4 are provided in the electrolytic bath 2 filed with the waste water 1 as an electrolyte. And, the side of cathodic plate 4 standing opposite to the anodic plate 3 is provided with the coarse mesh diaphragm 5a of a great space volumetric ratio, containing the waste water 1, and the fine mesh diaphragm 5b in contact with the diaphragm 5a in such a way that it is on the anodic plate side, forming the double diaphragm. And, electrolytic potential is measured by the voltmeter 8, or by the capi-lary rugin tube 9, the lead wire 10, and the reference electrode 11. Then, a voltage is applied across the electrode plates 3 and 4 to electrolyze the waste water 1. In this case, if Cl<-> exists in the waste water 1, Cl2 generates with O3 from the diaphragm 5a and also with O2 from the diaphragm 5b, causing respective effective treating effects. Electrolysis is made at a potential of 1.9V or more at the anode side 3 of the diaphragm 5b.
