PURPOSE:To achieve the prevention of recording distortion owing to electrode contamination and air turbulence by opposedly disposing a pair of deflecting electrodes within a hollow shield whose opening on the recording medium side is half hermetically closed. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower deflecting electrodes 14, 15 are opposedly disposed within a hollow shield body 18 composed of insulating material. A nozzle 8 assembled with an ultrasonic vibrator 11, charger 12, sensing electrode 13 is inserted therein and further a cap 19 provided with an ink particle passage hole part 20 is provided on the recording medium 2 side, with its opening part being half hermetically closed. Then, the ink from an ink feed part 9 is injected as ink particles 10 from the nozzle 8 and while they are being blown to recording paper 2 by being deflected between upper and lower deflecting electrodes 14, 15, the contamination of the upper and lower deflecting electrodes 14, 15 owing to the ink mist flying in the space among ink liquid drops and dust such as paper powder or other is prevented. In addition, the effect of the air flow containing the turbulence components caused along with the high speed relative motion of the recording paper 2 and recording head 1 on the ink particle 10 groups is reduced. |
