Flowmeter with housing limiting flow cross=section - has movable baffle connected with coaxial damping element in damping chamber

A baffle is provided coaxially in the flow cross-section, moved by the flow against a restoring force. The flowmeter measures the amt. of air drawn in by an i.c. engine through the intake pipe. A damping element (9) is attached coaxially to the baffle (2). Depending on the baffle (2) deflection, the damping element entrs more or less in the damping chamber (10, 11) which it limits like a movable wall. The damping chamber (10, 11) is connected through a throttle (12) with the flow cross-section. The baffle plate is connected to a lever arm (16) pivoted on an axle restrained by a spiral spring and carrying a link to the slider of a potentiometer.
