PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and inexpensively perform label printing to a storage medium by a user. SOLUTION: An optical disk 2 is carried in the direction of a turntable coupled on a spindle motor 4, and is fixed on the turntable, and is rotated by the spindle motor 4. A print head 10 accesses an inner periphery of the optical disk 2. A label layer consisting of an organic material or inorganic material provided in the optical disk 2 is irradiated with a light spot from the print head 10, a reflectivity of the label layer is partially changed with intensity of a light quantity of the light spot, and printing is carried out. The access of the print head 10 to the inner periphery of the disk 2 is detected by a home position sensor, and, thereby, the print head 10 starts printing. The print head 10 gradually moves to the outer periphery from the inner periphery of the optical disk 2, and continues printing during this period. Then, printing is completed over the whole area of the optical disk 2 when the print head 10 reaches the outer periphery of the disk 2. |
