<p>A solar heat collector is assembled from extruded collector plates with parallel absorber tubes which are joined to distributor tubes. U-shaped metal extensions, pref. made of an aluminium alloy, form a frame for the collector plates; they have ledges on the periphery for butyl sealing strips. A transparent pane rests on the top sealing strip, and a bottom plate is pressed against the bottom sealing strip. Sliding supports for the collector plates allow for thermal expansion. This collector is simple to mfr. and to install. It is substantial enough to replace the roofing of a house.</p> |
