Pulp prodn. from plant fibre raw materials - by hydrolysis to extract hemi-cellulose before decomposition with solvent and lignin dissolution

In pulp prodn. by vegetable fibre raw material decomposition with organic solvents, the hemi-celluloses and other extractable raw materials are extracted during a pretreatment step, so that in subsequent decomposition with organic solvent, the waste liquor contains, almost exclusively, dissolved lignin. Pulp quality- and sugar yields are high. All raw materials can be used. Preliminary separation of sugar components and acids allows the use of high-boiling solvents for decomposition. Process pressure and hazards are smaller.
