The measuring device is used for the measurement and the setting of the chill (1), as well as for determining the wear of the wall thereof, in a continuous casting of metal or steel where the variations of the hollow space of the chill with respect to the theoretical dimensions must be measured and evaluated. The device comprises a gauge (7) which can be introduced through the top part of and into the hollow space of the chill and fixed into position. A distance indicator (13), can be forced to slide inside the gauge, all over the height of the chill. The distance indicator is provided with two measuring needles (14a, 14b) aimed at being in contact with the reference points to be measured, each of them being movable inside the housing (13) of the distance indicator against a resistance force, this displacement being registered by an electric measuring instrument. |
