<p>PURPOSE:A rolling mill free of the breakdown of spindle, etc., having a mechanism in which pressure-lowering position is lowered by overtorque-generating signal, pressure is lowered to a predetermined rolling pressure directed and held at pressure memory indicator, or both operations are made. CONSTITUTION:Usually, the position setting signal of the pressure-lowering position setting device 20 and the detection position signal of the position detector 14 are compared at the first operating unit 21 and then fed back, whereby the pressure- lowering position is controlled to a predetermined value. When the torque of the upper roll spindle 4 is judged to exceed the max. torque set at the setting device 19 in the arithmetic unit 18, a pressure-lowering signal from the arithmetic unit 18 is sent to the first operating unit 21. Thus, the oil pressure piston 12 is lowered to widen the gap between the upper and lower operating rolls, whereby reducing the torque of the upper roll spindle 4.</p> |
