PURPOSE:To transmit a sufficient moment of rotation to a cooling fan by devising to arrange power-transmitting disks films fixed on a driving and a driven shaft alternately at minute spaces and to make operating fluid circulate among these spaces. CONSTITUTION:When the air temperature in a radiator is low, a bimetal 50 is positioned to close a valve port 44 by a valve body 52. Consequently, the operating fluid accumulated in a reservoir 42 is not used to make the curent of operating fluid when transmitting disks 34 on the driving side is rotated, and the torque is transmitted by the fluid remained in gaps S and an operating-fluid passing hole 60. The torque between disks 22 and 34 is therefore small. Meanwhile, when the air temperature is high, the valve body 52 is turned to open the valve port 44 by the bimetal 50. Consequently, an operating fluid circuit is formed to start from the reservoir 42, to pass through a hole 58, gaps S, and the hole 60 as an arrow Q shows, and to return to a passage 62 as an arrow R shows, and the transmitting torque is greatly increased by the shearing force to the fluid. |
