PURPOSE:To reduce voltage to be imposed on a switch by connecting one side winding to a switch and the other side winding to a fluorescent lamp. CONSTITUTION:T1 shows a transformer to become a switching means for turning on and off a fluorescent lamp L1 of a hot cathode where a primary winding L11 is connected to the filaments F11 and F12 while a secondary winding L12 is connected to a switch S1. When the switch S1 is in a cutoff state, the lamp L1 is lighted through the transformer T1 to make the switch S1 conductive, a current flows through the filament F11-the winding L11-the filament F12 so that the voltage to be impressed on the lamp L1 becomes less than the discharge maintaining voltage not lighting the lamp L1. At this time, thermoelectrons are emitted from the filaments F11 and F12 so that response speed at the next lighting time can be improved. Further, voltage to be impressed on the switch can be lowered by increasing a number of windings of the winding L11 than that of the winding L12. |
