<p>The system consists of front tractor brakes (1), rear ones (2) and trailer brakes (3). The front brake circuit has a control valve (4) worked by a pedal (5) and is joined to a reservoir (6). The rear brakes (2) also has a control valve (9), joined to a reservoir (11). The trailer system consists of a control valve (14). This has two entries, one joined by a pipe (15) to the front brake system (1). The other goes to the rear brakes (3). There is also a third entry connected to a reservoir (17) and another joined by a flexible pipe (19) to a relay valve (18) on the trailer. If air pressure falls rapidly the valve (14) continues to control the relay valve (18). Should the trailer break away, its braking system still operates.</p> |
