<p>PURPOSE:To uniformly direct a liquid crystal of a liquid crystal display device of a twist nematic type by using a pair of substrates of two-layer structure, in which an inorganic insulating layer of anisotropic shape and an organic high molecular layer are laminated. CONSTITUTION:An organic high molecular layer 3 of a urea or melamine resin having a thickness of 10 to 100 Angstrom is formed on an inorganic insulating layer 2, which in turn is formed on an electrode substrate 1 with a anisotropy in a preset direction, thus forming a liquid crystal direction controlling film. The aforementioned inorganic insulating layer 2 is prepared by evaporating at an angle SiO2, MgF or the like upon the substrate in a thickness of about 50 to 200 Angstrom , and then the film having a thickness of 100 to 2000 Angstrom is rubbed in a preset direction.</p> |
