<p>This invention is directed to a mattress foundation comprising in cooperative combination a synthetic resinous foam cushioning element having an upper surface and a lower surface and a support member in contact with at least a portion of the lower surface. The lower surface of the cushioning element has a plurality of corrugations in which the depth of the corrugation is from 40 to 95 percent of the thickness of the element. The cushion element containing the corrugations on the lower surface provides an improved load deflection curve for the mattress foundation resulting in a desired level of firmness and reduced stress on the mattress.</p> |
