PURPOSE:To repair the wall of a converter and elongate the life of the converter by pushing a castable refractory into a cavity formed between a wear lining and a permanent lining around trunnion shafts of the converter. CONSTITUTION:Cavity 7 is formed between wear bricks 3 and permanent bricks 6 in converter 1 after nearly 2000-3000 charges. So, a repairing material is injected into cavity 7 through holes 8 bored through iron shell 5 and inner permanent bricks 6 at the side of both trunnion shafts 2. The repairing material includes magnesia, dolomite, magnesite-chrome, etc. Thus, the life of the converter can be elongated, e.g. to 5350 charges. |
