The belt drive drum for handling brown coal is designed to give a compact bearing arrangement. The sheeting (1) forming the periphery is supported by two end flanges (2 or 3) integral with bosses (4 or 5) which have stepped bores, the outer diameter (8) being larger than the inner diameter (7). Into each stepped bore is fitted a spindle (11) with a flange (12) which fits against the shoulder (9) between the two steps. The portion (13, 14) of the spindle each side of the flange is tapered, sloping outwards to a smaller diameter. Respective bushes (15, 16) fit around these tapered portions interconnected by screws (17) parallel to the drum axis, which draw them together.
|
