Machine for pre-treating plastics tapes or strips used in mfr. of decorative articles e.g. tinsel, buntings, garlands, comprises a pair of driven rollers, with circumferential grooves. The rollers are axially parallel and mesh so that they form a zigzag nip through which the tapes or strips pass. The grooves have triangular cross-section. The prod. has pleasing appearance achieved with relatively low consumption of film material. The surface of the prod. is effectively structured and has enhanced reflectivity. Unplasticised PVC or polyethylene is suitable plastics. The tape may be metallised.
