Ski brake includes an axle extending transverse to the ski in a bow and rotatable on a base plate. Two brake arms extending beside the ski on one side. A pedal is in contact with the underside of the ski boot on the other side. On the interior sides of the brake arms (7) and/or on the upper and lower sides of the brake arms there are projections or recesses (91) extending in the direction of the ski's side surfaces but at a distance from them. A holding section (11) in the area of the base plate (51) extends in the ski's transverse direction, projecting beyond the ski's side edges. When the under sides of a pair of skis are placed together the projections of the holding section are brought into contact with the corresp. sections on the brake arms.
