The adjusting unit is operable in relation to deviations of measured values from the compared values of two longitudinal measuring systems, one on the left column, the other on the right column. The systems are engaged with sensor heads arranged independently from one another on the ends of beams. Each measuring system is connected to its own read-out indicator and has reference marks. At least one system is adjustable vertically on the columns as is at least one sensor head on the beams. The balancing values of both systems is included in the program of the numerical control.
