PADLOCK AND PUSH-BUTTON LOCK ASSEMBLY

PURPOSE: To facilitate fabrication and operation and to increase strength by locking and unlocking through means of a push-button type locking mechanism for latching mechanism which latches the constrained end of an inverted J- shaped catch capable of only rocking movement. CONSTITUTION: An inverted J-shaped catch 3 capable of only rocking movement has its constrained end 16 constrained in a housing 2 and engaged with a latching mechanism. A free end 35 of the catch 3 is engaged with and disengaged from a sleeve 14, which is reciprocal into the housing 2. The latching mechanism latches the catch 3 and is selectively locked and unlocked by a locking mechanism. When a plurality of push-buttons are pressed in a predetermined combination, the locking mechanism permits the reciprocal movement of a locking plate and controls the latching mechanism.
