<p>Compsn. for a load-bearing road surfacing comprises 50-80 wt.% road-building bitumen, 20-50% soft pitch, 30-60% natural sand, and 40-70% glassy granulate (I). (I) is a slag produced in melting-chamber firing during combustion of pit coal. Alternatively, it is a metal works, esp. Cu-smelting plant slag. The prod. has outstanding Marshall-stability and resistance to the destructive aaction of water.</p> |
