Process to weave a double pile fabric on a loom using a single weft projectile has the pile yarns leading from the upper level to the lower level, after the first weft has been laid, lifted up in the reed to a level which is not deeper than before. The pile yrns from the lower level to the upper level are dropped in the reed so that they are not higher than before. While the weft is inserted, there is a temporary deflection of the warps from the upper level in the lower shed position and the warps of the lower level in the upper shed position. The system allows a double pile fabric to be woven with a greater pile height, without major loom modification.
|
