<p>An apparatus for concentrating an/or treating a pulp mixture with gas or liquid is provided. The apparatus includes a through-flow container preferably of cylindrical shape and having a central filling body. Screen bodies extend radially from the filling body to the container for screening off liquid from the pulp. In liquid treatment application, supply means are provided between adjacent screen bodies for supplying treatment liquid to the pulp. In preferred embodiments gas pressure pulses are applied to the screen bodies to prevent their becoming clogged. Similarly, the treatment liquid may be fed to the supply means under intermittent pressure pulses. Various configurations of screen body and supply means are disclosed.</p> |
