A metering container (6) for receiving metered liquid is fitted on a valve body (3) which can be inserted in the bottle neck in a sealing manner. The metering container is connected to a pipe arrangement (5) for delivering the liquid from the bottle (1) or the metering container (6). The valve body (3) contains a valve seat (9) for a ball (10) which closes under the force of gravity and, in the rest position of the bottle, seals a valve bore (8) leading into the interior of the bottle and thus prevents contact between the liquid and the environment. When metering liquid into the metering container (6), the bottle is pivoted in a plane containing the metering container (6) in such a way that the latter is moved into a low-lying position. In this case, the closure ball (10) moves into a recess (12) in the valve body (3) and thereby releases the liquid passage to the metering container (6). For delivering liquid from the metering container, the bottle is pivoted back into a second position in the same plane, in which position the metering container is in a higher-lying position. When the bottle is pivoted back, the closure ball (10) has moved back into its closure position on the valve seat (9) so that all the liquid present in the metering container (6) can now be delivered. <IMAGE>
