The machine and fitment arrangement comprises at least one movable receiving surface for workpieces - pref. a rotary table- and a first drive for the stepped forward movement of that surface. A guide unit brings the workpieces to the receiving surface, and has a removal position. Grip and delivery units feed the workpiece from the removal position on to the receiving surface, a second drive and guide being provided for the grip unit. This drive brings it from a first work position attached to the removal position to a second such position appropriate to the receiving surface. The grip (9) is movable from a rest position into the work positions along a single axis (A) cross ways or vertical to the receiving surface.
