The brake retaining pin (1) is fitted with a head (2) and has a locking pin hole (3) at the end. The locking pin (4) may be inserted from a distance to hold the pin in position. Alternative fixing arrangements such as a nut or a split pin or a spring clip may be used to allow the retaining pin to be inserted from the opposite end of the spring assembly.
