<p>PURPOSE: To attain high oxygen content as well as high oxygen extract ratio by treating a gaseous mixture by using three adsorption towers and by subjecting the mixture to a cycle of adsorption, desorption and pressurization successively. CONSTITUTION: Untreated gas (unpurified air) from a blower 5 is successively supplied to adsorption towers 1 to 3 and is successively subjected to the cycle of an adsorption process, a desorption process and a pressurizing process in the respective adsorption towers. In the adsorption process, air of high pressure from the blower 5 flows in the tower in a concurrent manner and air rich in oxygen is withdrawn out of an outlet. In the next desorption process, gas is withdrawn in a counter current manner by a vacuum pump 7 and is transported to another adsorption tower which is at a beginning period of the pressurizing process. Then, in the pressurizing process, gas from another adsorption tower which is in the desorption process is accepted during an initial step of the process. Thus high oxygen content as well as high oxygen extract ratio can be attained.</p> |
