Automatic opening of filter press - using link mechanism with spring loaded pick=ups to latch onto arms on side of plate and move front plate in bundle

Filter plates of filter press are moved by transport system with to-and-fro movement. This has a pickup with a latch mechanism. This latch consists of several spring-loaded levers which are moved as the pickup moves against the plate. Each plate has a projection on either side against which the first lever presses. This raises a second lever which then catches against the projection preventing further movement. The first lever rises in front of the projection the pickup thus latching onto the plate. As the pickup moves, it takes the plate with it. For automatically opening filter presses. The construction is simple and inexpensive, permitting reversal of the action merely by altering a lever.
