<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of material used and cost of color filter by feeding a resin material for forming overcoat by means of a roll coater or bar coater and applying and forming an overcoat film by utilizing the rotation of a spinner. CONSTITUTION:Each color filter is formed no a glass base plate 1 in the order of red 5a, green 5b, and blue 5c by transferring and baking coloring material. Then a resin 4 for forming an overcoat is applied to the base plate 1 with the color filters 5. The overcoat is applied by means of a spinner by rotating the base plate at a fixed speed and the overcoat is tentatively dried so that the film thickness distribution of the overcoat layer can be uniformized over the full extent of the layer. When such covercoat applying process is adopted, a smooth color filter can be obtained with less quantity of material and the manufacturing cost of the filter can be reduced.</p> |
