[Also in Division F2] An adjustable pipe clamp for repairing bell and spigot joints comprises a bell ring and a spigot ring each comprising a plurality of arcuate sections each having at its ends and on opposite sides a series of teeth so that teeth of one section interlock with adjacent teeth of the next section, the sections being adjustably secured together by bolts which pass through holes in the section which are radially outward of the teeth. The bell and spigot rings are bolted together by bolts passing through holes 22, 47, in enlargements of the rings. The sections are adjustably secured together by bolts 31, 57 which pass through holes in one section and elongated slots in the other. The bell ring has inner and outer axially extending flanges 43, 58 and reinforcing webs 9, 48 and 49 for the enlargements containing the bolt holes. The spigot ring has radial flanges 18, 35 and an axial flange 23 with a dependent inclined portion shaped to engage a gasket 14. Webs 36 reinforce the ring. In order to obtain a continuous gasket engaging surface when the ring is adjusted near to maximum size and filler element engaging a rib near the teeth and inserted, the filler element having a profile similar to that of the ring. |
