The thermostat valve is for a heating radiator and can be preset to operate at a given temp. Accurate flow metering is ensured within a wide setting range and the presetting is clearly readable. An inserted sleeve encloses a rotating slider. An opening in this slider is moved into alignment with a flow opening in the sleeve. The opening in the sleeve narrows in the manner of a notch. The inserted sleeve has a valve seat for a sealing cone and a guide groove for a rotating slider.
