PURPOSE:To prepare the title molded article such as FRP bathtub, having increased bonding area and adhesive strength between resin and decorative cloth, and free from peeling-off of the decorative cloth, by using decorative cloth made of modified cross-section yarn. CONSTITUTION:A decorative cloth 3 is prepared by printing a pattern to a woven cloth wherein saturated polyester filament yarn having modified cross-section is used as warp and/or weft. The cloth 3 thus obtained is placed on a male mold 1, pref. interposing a surface mat 6 therebetween, an SMC material of FRP is placed there- on, and the whole composition is pressed with a female mold 2. The FRP resin is molten and transferred to the reverse side of the cloth through the meshes thereof, and impregnated into the surface mat 6 to form a transparent surface resin layer 5. The molded article is released from the molds after curing. |
