The driving and driven members of a flexible coupling are connected by a circumferential series of pads each consisting of a pair of resilient blocks 5 bonded to and compressed between an outer rigid sleeve member 6 and a diametral inner member 1, the blocks occupying only a part of the space between the members 1, 6. As shown the member 1 is in the form of a unit, the member 6 consisting of two semi-cylindrical bushes which are forced into a circular sleeve integral with a housing member 8 to compress the blocks 5. The units are assembled by bolting the housings 8 and the members 1 to the respective coupling members, Fig. 2 (not shown). In a modification, Fig. 11 (not shown), the members 1, 5, 8 are of trapezoidal form. |
